Was at Home Depot yesterday. They had the 1/2 inch 12v Rigid drill -
RIDGID
12 Volt X2 Cordless 1/2 In. Drill
Model R82015
SKU 369010

marked down from $159 to $69. This drill was quite heavy, and it seemed very well built. The package also included 2 batteries. I hated to pass it up but I already have 3 portable drills, don't know what I would do with a fourth.

Thanks dog, I have several cordless drills too, but in my line of work, we go through them like water so I can always use another one. They are heavy though, but for that price, who cares?

I will have to check it out. I know they used to offer a life time warrenty on these. Even the battery, but I think they stopped that. My Bosch just died, so it may be a substitute.

That was a limited time offer to introduce their new line of power tools. They opened the line in October 2003 and you had to buy before New Years to get the lifetime warranty. That's why I bought my 18v Rigid instead of a Milwaukee. I am NOT disappointed at all. This thing is fantastic. It's heavy, but it's well balanced. It also has an all steel collar so it won't get torn up like the Dewalts. The only thing I wish it had is the reversable battery like the Milwaukee, but the 2 battery/30min charger more than makes up for it. The lifetime warranty on everything is just the icing on the cake. If the 12v is built as well as the 18v...and I see no reason why it wouldn't be...buy it. Especially at that price. You'll love it.
