This kid I know somehow pulled off MSCE, even though he's not all that smart...he is now telling everyone that right out of high school a company like Dell or IBM is going to hire him for at least 80K/year, just cause he's certified....right....

Maybe, maybe not, he's probably gonna get a job for it though. Unfortunately most places thing MCSE means you actually know something.

$80k. Yeah thats a laugh. LOL.

braindumps.com

thast how he got his mcse.
or sasasite.com

A clown can get that.

Anyway NOWHERE is giving techs with no experience $80k year unless you have some whack PHD or something crazy from university that almost nobody in the world has.

Actually, you know what I was just thinking? He just said Microsoft Certified, I assumed that's what he meant...is A+ considered Microsoft? Cause that's easier

Or he coulda passed the the Win2K Pro exam and got MCP, which is a lower level cert. But no, A+ is CompTIA not MS.

Well that's why I asked, I didn't know...I'm confused as to how he got this at all, cause he really isn't all that smart...is there anything else he could have been talking about?

LOL!

Anyway, this RoadRunner "tech" (I use that word loosely) was working on my cable modem a few weeks ago. Okay, check this out...he was wearing a hat that said the following:

"Windows 2000 MSCE certified" or something to that effect...it was on this lame microsoft hat that probably came with passing the test. lol

Now, right away I'm thinking, "Great...he's MSCE certified and proud of it...looks like he's not gonna help me at all! Grr..."

Then it turns out he didn't help me! He even referred to kilobytes per second as kilobits per second...four times. I nearly laughed in his face. Oh, and one time when he had to call a "level 3 tech" he referred to it is "kbps." What a f'ing retard!

Oh, then while he was waiting for the level 3 tech to pick up, he had the gall to start surfing on my machine. He went to nascar.com to check some stuff out, read a few articles, then he went to microsoft's WMP site and downloaded a 3 Stooges Episode and watched some of that. Real professional... :|

Oh, btw, he was like orca fat...good 350 lbs at least. Nothing to do with anything...just thought I'd mention it so you get a good visual picture of this dumbass.

:|

I find it funny that people that bash MSCE all day. If you bash it, I dare you to pass it.

MCSE for NT was a joke, braindumps basically destroyed all chances of failing.
2000 is a bit different, trying to weed out thoes people who just pass the tests and know absolutly nothing.

I would bet a large sum of money, half of the people who respond to this post would never pass the infastructure exam.

If someone did that to my comp....I'd probably beat them over the head with a nearby object (whatever's closest ;) :p)

Oh, and I'm 18, and I got my A+ about 9 months ago.
Gonna go for my MCSE next year.

<< or just don't want to wast money to take the test cause not everybody work in IT for living >>

Right, that would be obvious if you don't work in that area.

I literally opened my mouth to tell him to stop (while watching the 3 stooges) when the level3 tech finally picked up...lucky bastard. I nearly told him to get the hell away from my computer, get out of my house, and that I was filing a report with RR about his unprofessional behavior and general lack of knowledge.

He did about a third as many tests on my connection as I did...heh

SammySon,

I'd be happy to take the test if I weren't busy actually doing the work every day.

Personally, I have nothing against Certs. Education is always a good thing. What I can't abide are these little turds that seem to think that because they passed a test they are suddenly God's Gift to the IT industry.

To be "MS certified" all you need is a single cert - some are not very difficult.

To get MCSE I have no doubt that if you studied yourself without dumps it would require a LOT of studying. I got my MCSD this year (4 developer exams) and it takes a significant amount of studying. Nothing replaces experience, but if you can pass these exams without cheating although you may not be a guru the least you can do is carry on a conversation and you'll know where to start when you have a problem.

Anyway that said an MCSE out of high school with no experience will never be able to command $80k/year!

Russ

The funny thing about the exams is that some of them can be so anal that I would bet a lot of money that you'd fail as would almost all network and computing technicians who have not directly studied for the MCSE exams. I know that with the VB exam I took although I passed it I'm positive my older brother would have failed it; but in a real life situation I know that he can out code me due to his comprehensive experience!

If you go to braindumps and look up a specific exam and check the correct dumps you can learn and memorize the exact pool that the MS exams are running from at that time. A full nights memorizing and you pass.

I know this because when I took the developing SQL server exam (a pretty damn nasty exam) I missed by 2 questions and unemployed at the time could not afford to fail it twice, so after failing it the first time I used dumps to ensure I'd pass the second time.

All I see are comments... where do you get the "dumps?"

Don't worry...I'm not taking these tests any time soon (I'm EE :p) .... just curious

I'm certain I'd fail the MCSE Win2000 test. Why?

I don't do Windows.

But regardless, the MCSEs I talk to on a daily basis as a Tier 1 Cox@Home tech amuse me to no end. Sample discussion:

Me: Ok, click on start, go to run and type in WINIP...
Cust: winipcfg, I know I know. I'm an MCSE!
Me: Ok, yes, winipcfg. Now what do you have for an IP address for your NIC?
Cust: My what?
Me: Your IP address? On your network adapter?
Cust: I'm setup for DHCP.
Me: Yes, I know. I need to know what you have for an IP address.
Cust: I just told you. I'm setup for DHCP.
Me: I know. We set everyone up for DHCP. I'm trying to see if the IP address you have matches what I see here.
Cust: No. DHCP. Not an IP address. DHCP. D-H-C-P. I don't have an IP address.

And so on. Eventually I got it through his skull that DHCP assigns your TCP/IP settings :/

In any case, I have -LESS- respect for MCSEs, at least those who feel it necessary to inform me of the fact they are one, than my average customer. At least my average customer knows they're calling for help because they don't know how to do it themselves. The average MCSE is calling for help because he's hosed something himself and doesn't know how to fix it, or doesn't realise he's the one that caused the problem.

(If you're the politically correct type, feel free to replace all references to he above with s/he).

Skoorb,

You might be right. All of these tests contain a lot of crap that nobody would ever use in real life.

Quick example of one of my experiences with an MCSE:

Guy walks in to my shop looking for a used 33k modem. I asked him why not just buy a new 56k - they're cheap. He says that he can't because V.90 modems won't work with a Cyrix 6x86 CPU.

So, I said "sure they will". "Are you sure you're not thinking of Winmodems and the fact that they require more CPU power?"

So, we argue about it, I try to explain that he just needs a hardware modem and finally he blurts out, "I'm an MCSE, I KNOW what I'm talking about!".

So, I told him to bring the system in, I stuck it on the bench, installed a hardware based V.90 and it worked just fine.

I get this kind of crap all the time.

The windows NT tests were a joke compared to the 2k ones.. I was studying NT4 but it ended before I began taking tests.. 2k is harder.. the braindumps help but nowhere near as much, you need experience with it, and you need to know it and study it.

Fortunately, unlike paper MCSE's and idiots who want it without any other computer experience, and like other MCSE's here I'm sure, we understand what we're 'learning' :).

A+ also but It doesn't mean much. So who wants to help me study for infrastructure? I'm scared. :)
