That's right. Youre an extremist if you believe those things. Well, according to Governor Cuomo...

Cuomo Sees ‘Schism’ in State GOP

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo took uncharacteristic shots at a conservative swath of Republicans Friday morning, saying that “extreme conservatives … have no place in the state of New York.”

Mr. Cuomo, a Democrat, made the remarks on the radio show the Capitol Press Room during a discussion about the fractures within the statewide GOP.

“You have a schism within the party…” he said. “Is the Republican party in this state a moderate party or an extreme conservative party? That’s what they’re trying to figure out … Are they … right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

Mr. Cuomo’s comments on socially conservative Republicans are perhaps his most pointed yet on the topic.

They came on the heels of a Wall Street Journal story on Friday about the split among Albany Republicans over gun-control and social issues.

During the radio broadcast, Mr. Cuomo also expressed wariness about holding special elections to fill eleven open seats in the Senate and Assembly.

State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver is calling for the elections, but Mr. Cuomo said they “are very expensive to do … I would like to know what the legal effects are and … how many more people are going to leave office?”

The elections would replace lawmakers who recently left the legislature, such as Eric Stevenson, the Bronx Assemblyman who was expelled this month per state New York state law after being found guilty on bribery charges.

Eric Soufer, the spokesman for the Independent Democratic Conference, which shares power with the Senate Republicans, said Senate leaders will be keeping the offices of recently departed members open and fully staffed for their constituents until the vacancies are filled.
I dont give a rats ass what YOUR opinion is, for you to alienate your own constituents by making remarks like think is TERRIBLE.

Cuomo is just a giant jackass. Too many state governors in the the position are idiot jackasses. Cuomo and Perry take the cake though for me. Ugh.

Every Governer seems to think that the whole state of New York is just New York City. The entire other part of the state is republican and more conservative. I think maybe the rest of New York needs to create a new state called West New York. The culture and ideals are miles apart.

There is no schism in the GOP, Moderate Republicans are just in the wrong party.

So I'm also not welcome in NY if I like to drink gallon sized fountain soft drinks? And I have to go to NJ for that, too? At least their fat governor will NEVER pass THAT stupid law.

He's basically telling the Tea Party Republican movement to GTHO of NY.

Actually, I can't say I'm too opposed to that idea, except for the fact I'm already surrounded by them here. And I sure don't want anymore Tea Party carpetbaggers from NY moving in next door.

Isn't that just standard Democratic Party rhetoric?

Isn't their position that if you don't agree with them, then you must be an (Choose one, or more...) extremist, terrorist, racist, homophobe?

Politicians say the darndest things. Red lines, time for a traffic jam, you can keep your plan, I did not have sex,... These are just Reagan:

"I don't know. I've never played a governor." -asked by a reporter in 1966 what kind of governor he would be

"Facts are stupid things." -at the 1988 Republican National Convention, attempting to quote John Adams, who said, "Facts are stubborn things"

"Trees cause more pollution than automobiles."

"All the waste in a year from a nuclear power plant can be stored under a desk."

For many, many more.

cuomo is wrong because even Santorum would rather have the 14th amendment Status quo on abortion than support States' rights... he is, after all, a Conservative and Conservatives have always been the party of a central govt unlimited in power. Liberals like Lord Acton, however, lost all hope when the CSA was defeated because States' rights is necessary for democracy.
