My right pinky (and sometimes right ring finger) and part of my palm has been numb off and on for over a week now. It will last for a few hours, then go away for a few hours.

I dont think its diabetes since usually numbness is symetrical (I think).

Is numbness a sign of carpel tunnel? I do a quite a bit of weight lifting, and do notice some pain in my right wrist after bench pressing and doing dead lifts (where I have a really tight grip)

The only reason I wouldnt suspect weight lifting is that I have been out of town for the last week and a half when this started occuring and havent been lifting.

I also had a rotator cuff injury several months ago that ive let heal on its own (possible nerve getting pinched?)

Could be either carpal tunnel or pinched nerve. Either way I'd definitely get it checked out to be certain. You can always go to an Urgent Care facility if you don't feel like waiting.

well.. it doesnt hurt at all, and it doesn't seem like it is very urgent in any case. I'll try and schedule an appointment in the next week or so.

I live with my r. thumb and most of the index/middle fingers being numb at least part of the time. I have a bulging disk at C6-C7 that's not bad enough to justify surgery, but sometimes does impinge on the nerve there. I suppose I should have another round or 2 of epidurals to help shrink that disk...but having them in the low back is enough thanks...

Numbness in those fingers is more likely to be caused by the ulnar nerve. Carpal tunnel symptoms tend to affect the other fingers.

This old thread may or may not be useful, as you haven't mentioned elbow problems.

Try waving your hand when it's limp. It's usually just a lack of blood in the vessels that does that.

sounds alot like cts, its a bitch though, because the test is a painful fucking ordeal... just tell the doc to skip it and get the cortisone.
