Right of Return...will it destroy the peace process ?

can peace ever be obtained if the palestinians require a right of return (as stated in the 1948 UN res. 194 ("the refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbours should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date." )) which would (or could) take away Israel's ability to be a Jewish state?
