Right fan for an AMD XP 1800+?

washout

Junior Member
sorry for my ignorance on the subject, guys but I can't figure out how to find a suitable fan for an AMD XP1800+

I'm thinking of buying that outpost combo deal for the xp 1800+ and the ECS mobo for $159, but I figure that its an OEM chip si i'll need a fan. So how do I find one that will work for the chip? Is there a difference between the Xp chips and previous models?

Will any HS/F denoted Socket A work?

thanks for any help

I think you need to read some reviews on heatsinks and not worry so much about the fan. In that case I would recommend the sk-6. I don't want to scare you either but a lot of people have had problems with that ECS board. Mine worked great but I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Seems like all the heat once associated wih this board has faded. I myself have never had a problem with any of the K7S5As that I used...it's still the best bang for the buck board available...even if you need to RMA it for a differnet one. Get the system running and the thing will F L Y ! ! !
