Right Click crashes Windows Explorer

If I open Windows Explorer and right click on any root drive (cd drive, hard disk, usb drive/etc), Explorer will immediately crash. I have searched google and found a couple threads with the exact same problems, but nobody had provided a solution. Here's where AT comes in. Anyone ever have this problem and know how to fix it? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

edit: I can right click on files, etc, but only right clicking on drives will crash. I have done a chkdisk and it has found some errors and they were fixed, but this doesn't help.

Is this XP? How old is the install? Got all the newest drivers and updates taken care of? If so, format c: seems like your only option which truely sucks.

yeah it's xp, and i do have all the latest drivers/xp security packs, etc. 🙁

The install is about 8 months old, so it's about time to reformat I guess....I just don't really have the time to do it right now...grrrr
