Hi,
Thanks for looking in.

This one has me puzzled.

Running as a limited user (which I do 95% of the time), whenever I Right-Click in Windows Explorer, or Total Commander, or 'treesize pro', or ANYTHING that uses Explorer shell, I always get:
"xxxxxxxx application is trying to set 'update service' to run each time your compuer is started" in Zone Alarm.
(where xxxxxxx application is the application I am running at the time"

Strangely, if I run as admin, which I rarely do, there is no problem.

Update service on my computer is disabled in Services.
There are no dodgy progs running in Task Manager/Process viewer etc.

I am pretty sure its a fairly easy fix in the registry, but I want to see if anyone has the route to go before I start tampering.

All the best and thanks in advance.

Doh,
Should've just done what I usually preach..

Followed the route given in ZoneAlarm in the registry and it points to a little proggy I dl'd and installed a few days ago, then uninstalled almost immediately.
Just got to delete it from the registry.

It was a proggy called HANDYBITS by TEKNUM.

what a pig of an uninstaller. Regedit runas admin from RUN enabled me to huntdown and kill all traces of it.

All is back to normal now.:D
