Rig Ruminations: Silencing the Gaming Bomb II

Folks,

I'm planning the first ever rig for myself and would like your thoughts on how to go quiet. The rig, in sketch:

FX55 or oc'd 3500 (winchester)
nForce4 Ultra
1Gig LL PC3200
X850XT
2 x SATA HDD's
2 x Optical
Antech NeoPower 480

I'm going w/ Chenbro Gaming Bomb II for the case. I like a lot about this case and AT's
review validates my impressions. However, I have serious reservations about the extremely noisy 120mm Sunon case fans (apparently, they run at constant rpm regardless of casetemp and generate upto 62dba)! So, I'd like to see if I can quiet this otherwise superb case down. Here are some options:

- Replace the Sunons: I'm considering Panaflo M1/H1 or U1's, SilenX or perhaps even Nexus --- all 120mm, of course. I'm assuming all these are available with 3-pin connectors that'll allow speed regulation by the mobo, correct? Which would you recommend? I require near silence during idling/browsing while maintaining sufficient cooling under load. Also, please recommend a reliable online vendor that has these available (I can't locate all these at either the egg, monarch or zzf).

- Keep the Sunons, add fan controller: Silverstone's Eudemon is the hands down winner in my book (I'd like minimal manual tweaking). I'd like the fan rpm's to increase automatically with casetemps and drop to near silence at idle/browsing without my having to think about it. Do the Sunon's undervolt noiselessly? (i.e. do they have low rpm wobble/whine/ticking/noise)? Once again, I can't located the Eudemon online. Please recommend a reputable vendor that has it in stock.

These are the options I'm considering at the moment. Are there any others I should consider (while preserving my case choice)? Also, I'd really like to hear impressions of the case from current owners.

cheers.

Can the GB2 take 120 x 38 fans or does it take 120 x 25 fans.

If it can take 38mm fans then get Panaflo'w with a fan speed/temp controller..

Regards,
Jose

Try to find Yate Loon low speed sleeve bearing fans. They are the the suppliers to nexus and the fans cost like 7$ each rather than 19.99$. Run a search, you will find some links to some resellers.

If you want to quiet your box down, I would not get any fan that advertised over 32db at 12V. Obviously the advertisements are usually false, but if it says something over 32db you are guaranteed it will be noisy at base voltage. 2x Yate Loon will serve you well in your setup.
