Riding Mower Battery?

It almost certainly uses a 12V battery, and yes, you can use any 12V lead acid(automotive) battery charger on it.
 
Well I know nothing about batteries and don't know if a 6v will blow up or something if I put a 12v charger on it. What kind of stuff uses a 6v battery?
