was just playing a play money tournament on Pacific Poker, was REALLY high in chips, I'm talking I've been Top 5 the whole time out of 539 players... Had the chip lead over the WHOLE tournament once...

So I'm playing, and have QJ OS... Flop is 8910... I've flopped the nut straight... Turn is Q... which I dont want to come out... River is the damn Jack, so I have the damned BOARD straight, and my opponent turns over K2 OS and wins with a higher straight...

its times like these that I Hate poker... thats just ridiculous...

finished 127 out of 539

OS is offsuit...

well then there is nothing u can do...u played it right, dont worry about it and move on.

i was short stacked tonight, didnt have the cards, finally got A of D-10 of H went all in and 1 guy called me with a pair of 7's

then the flop was J-D 2-C Q-D

Turn- 5 of D

so at this point my outs were any A, any 10, any K, or any Diamond....

got nothing on the river, played it right, nothing came

EDIT : I read that wrong. This post really is meaningless without bets/stacks though. It sounds like you tried to slowplay in a bad sistuation . . .

I think its questionable on whether you played it right or not. I think you should have never even let the turn and river card get played. If you've got the straight on the flop, and he's got a K2 on an 8910 flop raise the hell out of it, I wouldn't call with a K2 and that flop.

Read much? He said he went all-in after the flop.

thats holdem for ya. Like Doyle says in "super system" sometimes you can flop nuts and still not be the favorite to win a hand. Don't fall in love with your hand so much that you bet on a hand that can easily be beat.

I didn't slow play at all, this guy bluffed at me and with the nuts I reraised him all in and he was pretty committed to the pot....

I think I played it right with the nuts, just caught a bad beat on the turn/river...

I don't know the statistics but its got to be pretty bad to catch running cards to a straight and replace mine...
