Ridiculous fantasy football trade!

So I check my inbox and see I've got a trade proposal.

Seems like my friend (who's very knowledgeable about football) wants to trade me two players for one of mine:

I get:
- Terry Glenn
- Reggie Bush

I giveup:
- Ronnie Brown

Of course, I accepted the trade in a heartbeat. I was kicking myself for holding on to Brown for so long. He's been absolute garbage so far, with only one 100+ yard game. I expect he'll have a big game against Green Bay this week before the bye, but after Miami's still got Chicago, Minnesota, Jacksonville, and New England to play (decent defenses) along with KC and Indianapolis. Miami sucks, and Brown can't carry the team forever.

Of course, since my friend has more knowledge about this game, I'm wondering what he knows that I don't. Was this a good trade? Also, still waiting on league approval...

does your league give points for receptions and return yards? If so, you definitely got the better end of that deal. If not, maybe he needed a running back and Brown will probably get more rushing yards than Bush. If he has a bunch of good WRs, he might not need Glenn.

Honestly Bush is only a value in points per reception and "keeper" leagues. Otherwise he isn't that high of a scorer for a RB. If you aren't getting points for receptions his value drops even more. He'd be a hell of a keeper though.

Glenn is good. All I can think of is that the owner though that TO was going to start vulturing all of Glenns end zone looks.

Good trade if Glenn will start for your team, and you have other running backs.

Your friend probably has other wide receivers and doesn't need Glenn, so he went for an upgrade at runningback. Despite how much you hear Bush's name, Brown is a much more reliable fantasy performer.

I'm always hesitant to give up a number 1 RB and not get one back. But Miami isn't going to score a lot this year, so Brown isn't that bad to give up. Does your league award a point per reception? If so, you got a really really good deal.

I think you made out just fine on the trade. Sure Brown is a much more dependable RB right now and he's going to see more carries, etc. but you're right about him struggling a bit. While Bush isn't a top RB, he's still a great one to have in the 2nd spot... and he may surprise us yet this year. Glen is good to go!

A few people think I'm nuts for my trade yesterday, but I'm completely happy with it.

I traded:

L. Jordan, H. Ward, and M. Turner

for

C. Chambers, C. Dillon, H. Miller

Brown has 4 tds in 6 games, and their offense can't be worse than it's been to date. It is bad to give him up if you don't have any other running backs.

Brown: 405 rushing yards and 4 tds, and 135 receiving yards.
Bush: 195 rushing, 285 receiving, and his only td coming off a punt return which you probably didn't get credit for and can't plan for.

If his league awarded a point per reception, his friend would have never given Bush up. Barring that, this is only a good trade for the OP if Glenn is going to be a big upgrade at the receiver spot.

Glenn's a good receiver for me--before that I only had Branch, Cotchery and Keyshawn as starters (Chris Chambers and Michael Jenkins coming on/off the bench on week-by-week basis.) I dropped Jenkins to make the trade. I think I'm okay at RB--I've got Rudi, Dillon and Rhodes to back up Bush. Rudi's hit a rough spell as of late but he'll bounce back.
