Ridgid 12v batteries look exactly like Bosch 12v batteries.

Highly unlikely. The top connectors may be configured the same, but the plastic housings will likely be different enough so you cant insert one battery into another brand.
Sometimes brands sisters, like skil and bosch can be inserted into each other with some small modifications,.

I think the hitachi and ridgid batteries are also identical, the hitachi's will fit in a ridgid but won't latch.
