Riddle me this

Lets say it is a dream of yours and your SO to go to the same school (or job). You are denied and your SO is accepted. You can petition for review. If in the review you can show you are more qualified than someone else who has been admitted, you take their place. The only person who you are more qualified than is your SO. Do you go thru with the review?

if your original intention was to go to a school together, then what would be the point of replacing your SO at that school (unless you intend to break up with her)

If Im better qualified Im going to have a better chance fending for myself elsewhere, and I put myself and my SO on equal platters, therefore no reason to put a less qualified portion of my family in a tougher situation.

this reminds me of a story my dad told me
