well these are XFX 7800gt's.....clocked 450Mhz/1050Mhz

latest drivers....just done a run of 3D05, and i get about 8600, i dont think thats quite right correct? 7800gts in SLI shpuld be more near 10k right?

also in the drivers.....theres SLI single gpu rendering mode, and SLI multi GPU rendering mode

1) whats the difference?
2) why do i get roughly the same score regardless?

cheers

edit1: ran 3d05 without the load balancer thing.....score went up to 9500 ish....thats more like it

edit2: heh

now i cant play riddick!.....get an error saying that the game needs graphics drivers with opengl 1.3 support!

should i re-install DX9c again?

Well I assume single-GPU isn't SLI at all. Any further than that, who knows. I think you know what Cpt. Obvious would say (SLI enabled in BIOS? Bridge? Right drivers? Plugged in? :p)

Maybe try different balancing methods (AFR or SFR/SFR2 and whatever else they have in terms of SLI profiles). Where was the meter bar? In the middle or was it all the way at the top or bottom pretty much? You'll only see the meter in SFR modes.

it was at the right hand side......with the green bar expanding to the top n bottom or shrinking to the centre, not sure what rendering mode that is though

1. You want to have it set on SLI.
2. You want to install Coolbits and set AFR1 or 2 as your default for games that don't have profiles.
3. Don't know about your 3DMark- is it in line with others that have similar rigs on FutureMark?

Done my friend- I'd unistall that Active Armor and give it a try too. Could be that's where you're at due to other limitations also, like CPU?

possibly....i did only buy a 3200 venice, not got round to squeezing more beans out of it yet mind.

its weird though because it got nearly 10k yesterday....but ive reinstalled XP since then as i didnt know active armour was foobared.

gonna test some games out now. if its smooth in them then 3dmark doesnt really matter

Reinstalling DirectX won't do anything for a problem with graphics drivers. You likely need to reinstall the drivers and get rid of any tweaks you're using to increase your score in 3DMark.

Do you have the latest patch for Riddick? When I got it, I heard something about it messed up on detecting OpenGL and it was fixed in the patch. I'm not too sure of the details, but it could work!

ill get the patch in a sec, try out the 2.0++ shader model, see if that can bring these bad boys to their knees.
