Ricoh 6x4x32 7063a 89.00

This burner is being sold at FRYS (halloween promo) currently for 129 and offers 40.00 in rebates. Its called a CenDyne drive but I had a feeling it was a ricoh and yes it is. First I flashed the drive with its newest bios and tested it with clone cd. It works great and for around 100.00 this drive rocks.

If anyone buys one make sure to check your drive and see if it is 7063a Im not sure other models like the 7060are compatible since I have not tested it personally.

Also, I cant find reviews on this drive or whether it was compatable with clone cd but it works on several cds that I backed up that had copy protectin like the Encarta 2001 CD.
Unfortunately the drive has a 2meg buffer but I have a duron 600@ 1gig plus a 7200 harddrive to compensate.

Any thoughts guys, Is their reviews out for this thing?

for that speed cdrw a 2meg buffer is great...you will get few buffer underruns so long as you do not try too much multitasking

CDRWin, Nero, CDClone and probably other copy programs have a configurable memory buffer. So set your buffer to ~8MB, and you should have no problems.
