The pedophile jokes and Epstein joke made a lot in the room look a little uncomfortable.

No I hate that guy and I know the movie. I thought there was a Ricky Gervais in racing but it's another Gervais. Why is this comedian guy even important enough to host such a show?

Because he dared to call out the politically correct elite liberals of hollywood... You know - the ones that sob on-stage about how minorities and women are oppressed - all the while buying their next lake-side mansion and giving pesos to their hispanic gardener and manufacturing their shit products in sweat shops?

At the end of the day though just like Ricky said - it's just jokes. Try not to take them too seriously.

I honestly just find it refreshing that there is pushback to this woke PC culture. People like Ricky, Dave Chappelle, and a few others have finally taken a step forward and are doing jokes... because they are jokes... not just jokes based on what is politically correct or not. Just because a twitter mob of 30 buzzfeed low IQ morons tells you something isn't funny, doesn't mean it isn't funny to your average educated individual that doesn't have time to twat their tweets.

Because he has FU money. You might have heard little TV show he created over in Britain called The Office. It's been remade in the US, France, Sweden, Germany, and Brazil. He also produced the US version. So he's rich and he doesn't give a shit.

I can never tell if Ricky is hilarious or just genuinely an arsehole.
His portrayal of Brent in The Office is painful to watch at times and I dont think the real him is that different.

I think he's like Chappelle...he's able to package truth in a funny way. Sometimes it's mean, and it's to the point, but they both have the somewhat unique ability to capture the truth of the situation & deliver it like a bomb to their audience. Although I think Gervais genuinely enjoys being a straight-up jerk who purposely performs without tact & finds it humorous that stuff like the Golden Globes prioritize ratings over content, which is why they keep inviting him back, lol. Seinfeld gets to the truth of things as well, but in a more observational kind of way that didn't offend so many people. Louis CK can do it too, to a certain extent, with his bits about how slavery supports the production & pricing of modern smartphones, or this bit, which is one of my favorites:
