Ex-Governor of Michigan Charged With Neglect in Flint Water Crisis (Published 2021)

Rick Snyder, the former governor, faces two misdemeanor counts in the crisis, which left thousands of Flint residents drinking tainted water.

Rick Snyder, the former governor of Michigan (Jan 2011-Dec 2018) who oversaw the state when a water crisis devastated the city of Flint, has been charged with two counts of willful neglect of duty, according to court records.

The charges are misdemeanors punishable by imprisonment of up to one year or a maximum fine of $1,000.


Gov Synder is the person RESPONSIBLE for the tainted water by switching that city's water supply from treated Detroit Water and Sewerage Department water (sourced from Lake Huron and the Detroit River) to the polluted Flint River.

On August 20, 2020, the victims of the water crisis were awarded a combined settlement of $600 million, with 80% going to the families of children affected by the crisis.[26] By November, the settlement grew to $641 million.

So after the Repub leaves office, the tax holders of the state pays his bill.

i say a MAXIMUM fine of $1000 is getting away with it.
and that is IF he is convicted
