Yeah man, why is that world leader meeting with other world leaders! Don't worry Pro-Jo, we all noticed how full of shit you were yet again.
It was in response to that idiot acorn picture.

Politicians pose for pictures all the time and it doesn't prove a thing.

Oh I meant about your earlier attempt to claim that Perry was writing his letter while having no knowledge of the Clinton health care plan.

Oh, and what's wrong with moving to Norway? For 2010 they topped out the HDI as the best place on planet earth to live. If you're going to push for a low tax policy, you probably don't want to point at one of the most successful societies on the planet.

There was NO plan to have knowledge of at the time.

In case you forgot her task force worked in secret and details of the plan weren't published until much later.

This is why the republican party needs to put their best foot forward with Ron Paul.

30 years of a consistent voting record based on the idea that he will only vote for laws expressly authorized by the constitution.

I'm not a Ron Paul fan, but he does have a record of consistency. Most Republicans are like McCain - they don't reach across the aisle, they live their between elections. Very few can spend more than half a decade in D.C. without coming to view the federal government as the answer to all possible questions. I've not yet researched Perry, but I greatly suspect he is more of the same.

As for Romney, I like him. I have no problem with Romneycare, and I think that every state should be developing plans to provide 100% coverage for health care. At the state level.

Uhmmm, Clinton campaigned heavily on universal health care. It was part of his campaign literature and included in the Democratic party platform for 1992. If Rick Perry didn't know about the basic ideas, the same ones he views as unconstitutional now, he was a moron.

(this is possible, btw)

People can't change their minds over 18 years of time? This is a pretty silly thing to accuse someone of "flip-flopping" on, which, by the way, is one of the STUPIDEST things to attack someone for politically. I would rather have a politician whose views can change based on facts than someone who steadfastly stands behind a position even after it's revealed to be stupid. I'm not saying that every politician should be like Romney, saying whatever his current audience wants to hear, but the opposite of that stance is George Bush, who refused to consider ANY evidence that went against his agenda, and that's terrible for making good policy. Having strong views is important for good leadership, but compromise is equally important. Accusations of "flip-flopping" signify that someone has run out of reasonable concerns about someone and are lowering their argument to simple name-calling. I refuse to believe that we've run out of legitimate complaints about Rick Perry.

BTW did you read the letter?

He is not supporting her healthcare plan or anything. He is kissing up and trying to make sure she considers the people he worked for were taken care of.

You can probably find letters like this for every politician left or right.

Dear President Bush,

I would like to thank you for your efforts on blah blah blah.

As you know I have always been a big supporter of blah blah blah.

As you continue to work on solutions I hope you keep xyz in mind and if I can help in any way blah blah blah...

Yeah, that's what I get when I read his letter.

He was the TX Ag Commish and repping for his constiuents. "Hey look guys, I sent a letter to HC and told her not to forget about you".

Well, if Perry loses to Obama, I figure he'll do another flip and become a Dem again for the run in 2016.

Hey, whatever gets him there right?

Sure was a sad day when he got bought out back then.

Bill Clinton ran on the 'it's the economy stupid' platform.

And here is text of the 1992 Democrat platform
http://www.udel.edu/htr/Psc105/Texts/demoplat.html

Affordable Health Care.

All Americans should have universal access to quality, affordable health care -- not as a privilege, but as a right. That requires tough controls on health costs, which are rising at two to three times the rate of inflation, terrorizing American families and businesses and depriving millions of the care they need. We will enact a uniquely American reform of the health care system to control costs and make health care affordable; ensure quality and choice of health care providers; cover all Americans regardless of preexisting conditions; squeeze out waste, bureaucracy and abuse; improve primary and preventive care including child immunization and prevention of diseases like Tuberculosis now becoming rampant in our cities; provide expanded education on the relationship between diet and health; expand access to mental health treatment services; provide a safety net through support of public hospitals; provide for the full range of reproductive choice -- education, counseling, access to contraceptives, and the right to a safe, legal abortion; expand medical research; and provide more long term care, including home health care. We will make ending the epidemic in breast cancer a major priority, and expand research on breast, cervical and ovarian cancer, infertility, reproductive health services and other special health needs of women. We must be united in declaring war on AIDS and HIV disease, implement the recommendations of the National Commission on AIDS and fully fund the Ryan White Care Act; provide targeted and honest prevention campaigns; combat HIV-related discrimination; make drug treatment available for all addicts who seek it; guarantee access to quality care; expand clinical trials for treatments and vaccines; and speed up the FDA drug approval process.
Don't see mention of universal healthcare as in government run healthcare.

As the NY times said at the time.
http://www.nytimes.com/1992/06/26/u...ject-part-their-past.html?pagewanted=2&src=pm
The Democrats, like many Republicans, endorse the goal of "access to quality, affordable health care" for all Americans. But with Democrats divided on the details of a national health-care plan, their platform does not specify how to achieve that goal. It calls for "tough controls on health costs."

BTW this thread is pathetic and so are the people who fall for this BS.

By time it was done the Hillary Healthcare plan was a disaster.

Look at what Patrick Moynihan said about the bill "anyone who thinks ((the Clinton plan)) can work in the real world as presently written isn't living in it."

The plan was so bad that they didn't even get it to a floor vote in a congress the Democrats controlled!

To some how claim that this letter is 'praise' for a bill that even Democrats refused to vote on it idiocy.
