yeah, it's unfortune. the machine is too big though. most CEOs of the world's largest corporations have trouble controlling all the areas of their companies. you think the president really has much control or ability to make any changes that will actually trickle down to where it needs to go? the best case scenario is to make your economic decisions and hope that luck is on your side, because that's all that really matters anymore.

I hate the candidates, and even worse, the citizens, who act like it's still 1870 where we can isolate ourselves from the rest of the world, and we are the only ones that we should care about. a conservative president is the last thing we need right now, foreign policy wise.

and as far as I'm concerned, the world is too fucked up these days on a global level. we will ALWAYS have problems so we'll never have another "good" president again. there will always be something to hate on, republican or democrat.

Fiscal conservatism is bullshit. It has never worked in the history of civilization. The strength of a nation comes from two things-- it's people and its institutions. Libertarianism is a fad right now because a lot of people have such vague knowledge of history and economics but think they're a lot smarter than they are. They think, "why it ought to be clear that small government is good and less spending is good because that just makes sense! I'm a genius, why can't everyone see things this way?" Well it's because that's feel-good garbage.
