It's an embarrassment of riches. A receipt - showing a astounding $100 million savings balance- was left behind at an East End bank by an arrogant mogul who couldn't be bothered to pick it up after withdrawing $400 and paying a $2.75 ATM fee.

It was found sticking out of the slot at the Capital One Bank in East Hampton Village by the next customer -- who turned it over to the financial tabloid Web site Dealbreaker.com.

Besides documenting an amazing $99,864,731.94 savings account, it illustrates one truth that every New Yorker knows -- no matter who you are or how much you have, you can't escape ATM fees.

My exgirlfriend house sat for a guy, and he asked her to sign into his online banking to get some information for him.

His balance? 50,000,000. Crazy.

Since he is a hedge fund manager I highly doubt all of his eggs are in one basket. This means he likely has several bank accounts plus stocks, bonds etc. He probably has 99 million in each of those. Some people are just too rich. Give me just 5% from one of his accounts and I will never have to work again in my life.

That was obviously to try to woo her. Did it work?

Also did she write down the username/password? All we need is a contact in Russia to funnel the money through several bank accounts.

If he's a hedge fund manager, I'm sure he can find other places to put his money to net a return higher than 1%. Unless this is his "petty cash" account. If you put $100 mil in a petty cash account, you know you're rich as hell.

This def. must be it. In the full article the guy's account they suspect it is says he would never keep that much cash in a low yielding account like that...but it's the same guy who also has a pair of brass testicles on his desk that he rubs for good luck...

odd, why wouldn't rich people just keep some stacks of cash on hand. why goto an atm? .

if I had that much in my savings accoutn I probably wouldn't leave the house with less than 5k in cash.

I probably wouldn't carry much cash at all...just the AMEX Black Card. No need for cash unless frequenting a cash-only business...it just takes up space, gets you mugged, etc

Why? They probably use cards for everything. There's no reason to carry a bulging stack of bills, $5k = 50 hundreds.

People appreciate cash tips. 5k will get you further than an amex black when the power is out.

Because that happens quite often lol...Amex Black will get you further anywhere when the power is on as far as benefits/people treating you like a God ... over 5K cash where you could just be a drug dealer.

It doesn't matter how often or what frequency your amex isn't taken, why not just have a quick get out of a jam cash on hand. takes up little space. It would be the equivalent of you or me keeping an emergency 50 in our wallet.

I didn't say don't carry your amex. and btw amex black card or not amex isn't accepted everywhere, though its probably not an issue in Manhattan.

A buddy of mine has a black card. He doesn't get treated any differently when people see it.
