Ricers: Love them or Hate them?

No/No

No LEDs on my computer, or car.

My Harley is chromed out though. But I have it bored out with a hot cam, so it's go and show. 😛

I like modifying both my computer and car for looks, but neither are rice.

My car is clean, lowered with rims, de-wing, de-badge. that's it... my computer case is a tasteful CM wavemaster with UV cathodes and UV reactive parts, that's it.... keepin' it clean 😀

Older Thermaltake and Chenbro x-spider cases come to mind when I think of ricer cases. I personaly like the Lian Li PC-v series and most Antec or Coolermaster cases.

Chrome is ok, that is classy. But you will almost never see a honda with 3 tons of chrome on it. Adding chrome is not ricing.

Agree whole heartedly. I hate those dumb Alien and Aspire cases, so gaudy.....

It is on a Honda, it doesn't belong there... 😛

depends what you call "rice"... are you talking about the big logo's of the car brand with 4' shopping car wing with an led exhaust pipe with lights all under the car? thats what i consider rice... but i do appreciate both imports and domestics modified/customized very nicely...

If IBM used one of those cases on their orginal PC then I believe we would all be using MACs today. The PC would have flopped.

Sure, that all depends on what your definition of "is" is.

The Website http://www.anti-rice.com/ is down for the moment. But here is a defintion.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Ricer

If your definition of ricer = modded Honda Civic with a white flame design on the sides, and a ridiculous exhaust system, then yes... I hate ricers.

you lost me at hello....

There's a world of difference between people who mod import cars and ricers.

Ricers are the 1992 Hyundai Elantras with coffee cans sticking out the back, spinning hubcaps, and stickers peeling off that say "Pedro" on the front in that goofy-ass Gothic font or whatever that's supposed to be.

I hate them. With a passion.

I drive a 2k1 impreza 2.5rs. Looks kind of like a ricer, and I like it. I can't stand ghetto looking, half @ssed performance wannabe cars though. The only mod on the car are brembo brake kits, and 17" enkai wheels.

Computer case is an unmodified Coolermaster ATC 201. I love it.

I was quoting Bill Clinton. I think the defintion of Rice other than something you eat is pretty obcious to most of us.

hahaha i see i see, well there are alot of people out there that consider anything done to an import besides maintenance is considered "rice".

My wife wants to get a Sienna. Which is ideal, since we have 2 children and hauling them around in my impreza, although it's 4 dr, is quite a pain. However, she wants me to get rid of my car. I don't think so!!! I will get rid of my car, if and only if, I'm getting an m3. Which is well out of reach atm 🙁

Adding anything to your car to make it appear faster is considered rice'd. Big wheels, cofee can muffler, intentionaly mis-matched hood, Auto Part Brand Stickers, Weed eater engine sounds.

Adding RV Tow Bars or Tinting windows does not count as ricing becasue they are needed or required changes to a car.

Since many motherboards like DFI these days include them, I would say as long as you are not trying to illuminate them or show them off then I would say no. If you have them and are using them just becase they funtion and not becase they glow, then NO.
