RICE POWAH!!! Supra vs Viper vs Camaro SS

I think we'll see the following quotes in here shortly. 🙂

"Supra wasn't stock"
"No Camaro could keep that close"
"Viper driver sucked"

etc. 😉

Supra won
Then the Viper
Then the Camaro

Too bad the race isn't fair because the supra is heavily modded to say the least...

Good first guess!

Ohh, and vipers are tricky to launch.... I've seen that first hand at the track.

yep....but it was a pretty close race overall tho. I think that supra was running around 20lbs of boost.

The Supra is the only car that can make me forget about my love for the Viper. I've yet to feel the thrill of the TT version, but having driven a lightly modified Supra(single turbo conversion or something, I was too giddy) and an older RT/10, I can definately say that the Supra would be the car I'd definately love to own as a daily driver.
If only that video was in daylight, that would be a definate keeper. The only thing that could make it better would be to add a GSXR1K to the fray, and watch the commotion ensue. 🙂

i would much rather drive a large single turbo supra.

And I a car that doesn't have major boost lag. Have you seen the dynos for a large single turbo Supra? Torque is pathetic as is horspeower down low. Give me an all motor Corvette anyday. There's practicality in immediate and large amounts of torque at all ranges. Really...there is. Torque allows me to get better gas mileage/performance than a large turbo car around town and is no slouch at any range.

No matter what you think, there is no replacement for displacement. Give me the same money it took to mod the Supra, and I'll give you a faster Pony Car/muscle car.

Contrary to popular belief, Camaros and Corvettes handle very well in capable hands.

Oh hell yeah there is major boost lag...but fook how else do expect a car with a smaller engine to keep up bigger engine cars. I bet a fixed up Buick Grand National Turbo GNX would smoke your all motor vette on the strip any day. But then you make that vette a daily driver too....but hey it's amazing what they can do to engines these days.

Exactly. Check out the price of each. Wonder which one cost the least? No need to come back with, "Well, my XXX only cost $1000 and I can smoke any of them." We are talking about these 3 here.

edit. upon closer inspection, looked like SS beat Viper, then hit the brake? Can't be sure from that angle, but the SS definitely hit the brake before the other 2.

Supras are nice cars. They are way over engineered. They belong with supercars that costs over $100k each. I believe Toyota said they lost money with each sale.

Though I'd take a Viper over a Supra any day (duh) here's a question I have:

If someone mods any car (say a Civic for example) to be as fast, handle as well, even chew up as much gay as, say, a Mustang, why is the Mustang still the better car?

Because it's not a civic. 😉

amish

If a car is modded to be fast, it isn't rice.

If that were a stock Supra with stickers, rims, a fart-tip, tinted windows, a "TypeR" sticker, a huge wing, and an air filter - and it beat a Viper - that would be
"Rice Powah".

As it is, its more like "nice engine and speed mods powah".

Mods for speed and handling = legit.

Mods for "looks" and fake power = rice.

just FYI, the supra mods couldn't have cost more than 10k, bringing the total price of a supra to 50k

the viper STOCK is what, 60k?

sorry dunno how much camaro is, but i'll admit they're pretty fast ^ _^

"Viper driver sucked"

I'm for that one 😀 No way in hell the Viper looses.
