For some reason I'm thinking that Rice Krispy Treats are a relatively healthy snack compared to cookies, cakes, etc... Am I right or just completely off my rocker?

It depends. If they are made with only egg whites instead of including the yolks and with lowfat margarine they actually aren't all that bad. There is no taste difference making them this way either! :)

Who puts eggs in Krispy Treats??

Marshmallows (sugar)
Butter
Krispys

They aren't too bad for you, but they have little nutritional value.

Eggs??? :p

I wouldn't call them healthy, but, given the choice between it and a candybar, the Rice Krispy treat would be the "less bad for you" choice.
