That is interesting. What problems are you going to have with glass though? I don't think the microwave will heat it up fast enough to stress fracture it.

You have to worry about ceramics if they aren't speficially microwavable though.

I've never had a problem with glass in a microwave.

Even made hot chocolate with regular glasses (thin glass).

Got any old hardware (hard drives, PCI cards, motherboards, etc.)?

(Might want to do this outside... some circuit boards have nasty chemicals in them)

I'm pretty sure glass doesn't absorb microwaves, therefore the energy of the microwaves is not converted to heat, which would cause thermal expansion.
