Thinking of trying for an apprenticeship in engineering there, does anyone have any info on their company? Or work for them?

They apparently have offices in Detroit and Chicago and develop automotive technology etc.

Is being a supplier for an automotive company in Detroit a safe business?

See if you can find a website. Companies usually will have a history, etc... on their website.

They do engineering and design work in Michigan. It's the plants that are shutting down. I'd say it was fine.

I'd guess they would be ok as well, as long as they don't depend on the automotive industry too much. These days, they'll be looking for the lowest bidder.

I have worked at the headquaters in Shoreham, UK. It was about 12 years ago, but I can tell you what they do.

It's all on the official website, but in Shoreham they do evenrything from mopeds to Truck engine dev. They mostly do NVH and emmisions stuff for ALL the major car, motorbike and truck brands you see every day.

They also look after Spitfire engines and they fired one up while I was working there. Oh my.....

I see, apparently they developed transmissions for mitsubishi in the dakar rally and ford in the WRC 06... Sounds like the type of work i want to get into, i think im going to go there tomorrow and try to speak to somebody and see what they can offer in terms of training..
