Rib injuries

Man, i forgot how much these hurt. Last time i cracked a rib was over 8 years ago playing basketball. This morning i got tossed while mountain biking, thanks to a brilliant move on my part. Left brake = bad (accidently pressed) going downhill through sand while dodging a tree. I must have flown a couple of feet before landing on my side with my elbow being driven into my ribs. At least it wasnt a cracked ribbed this time, just compression on the cartilege and ligaments, but man it brings back memories.

Oh well, i will feel it for a few days/weeks in every breath i take, but im going back out again tomorrow. 🙂

Anyone else have any mt. bike injuries they would like to share?

I had "bone bruising" (thats what the doc called it) on my pelvic bone and my lower ribs from snowboarding. Overshot the landing and landed in the flat. Came down straight to my right hip bounced and tumbled. Funny thing is it happened in the morning and I continued on for the rest of the day because I didn't want to force my friends to go home. So I understand you when you say "im going back out again tomorrow". My waist swelled up so bad and I killed a bunch of nerves because I dont' have feeling right around my waste on the right side. For some reason though I can't wait for snow to fall so I can get back out there.

Ouch....Bone bruises on the hips hurt. I got those sliding and diving in baseball, but none of mine were as severe as yours.

Most likely my situation will be "I will go out again if i can move in the morning".
