"Don't they have something better to do during the summer than hack our site?" asked the RIAA representative, who asked not to be identified. "Perhaps it at least took 10 minutes away from stealing music."

Think again asswipe :D

Berman's bill, co-authored with Rep. Howard Coble, R-N.C., would allow the RIAA to engage in precisely this kind of denial-of-service attack against peer-to-peer networks where illicit copies of music are traded.

The RIAA, which receives connectivity through WorldCom's UUNet subsidiary, said it would not speculate about the reason for the attack. A representative said it appears to have been the first time the group's site had been knocked offline.

Hopefully the first of MANY.

I'd have to say, any time a bill is passed in Congress that supports RIAA BS, it's only a financial issue (i.e. payed off congressman) , not anything that the "Majority of constituits" support.

What a fvcking joke. Too bad that's how American Law works

That's too sweet, I was wondering how long it would take before someone gave 'em a taste.

Hahah. . . what happens if people get organized and do DDos attacks on RIAA site. Like 10 people would do it at once, then ten others, and so forth. DDoS is very hard to track so people probably won't even get caught.

DDoS attacks are bad.
It is bad behaviour to knock down websites.

So... where can I sign up for the next attack? :D
