WTF?....isn't this like the 3rd or 4th time something like this has happened?
Im encouraged to bundle these people and help them out in a lawsuit against the RIAA for harrassment, decimation of character, mental anguish, libel, and perjury in court.

Why don't they increase proper criminal penalties too, like rape or kidnapping or child pornography?
On the first offense of sexual assault, there is a Minimum prison sentence of 5.25 years with a maximum or 14 years. On the second offense, the minimum term is 7 years and the maximum is 21 years. And on the third, the minimum is 14 years with a maximum of 28 years.

From the linked Cnet article:
Boosts criminal penalties for copyright infringement originally created by the No Electronic Theft Act of 1997 from five years to 10 years (and 10 years to 20 years for subsequent offenses).

So now copyright infringement is almost as bad as sexual assault?

Say goodbye:

Creates civil asset forfeiture penalties for anything used in copyright piracy.
Criminal asset forfeiture will be done following the rules established by federal drug laws.

according to the govt, yes. because copyright infringement cuts into the profit margins of big corporations whereas sexual assault only hurts individuals. and we all know that the govt doesnt really care about individuals
