When the RIAA sues all these people for file sharing, do they give money to the artists whose files are shared, or does anyone know what happens to the $$ they get, is it used to fund more lawsuits?

It seems a bit silly people getting sued for what they do, if then the people whose work they breached the copyright of get nothing.
 
I doubt that they will make any profit from these possible lawsuits. Lawsuits, lawyers, and court costs are VERY expensive, and I don't think that file-sharers are wealthy people.
