Damn! They are starting to go down kazaa? I wonder how long until they get me!

It makes me wonder how this will be remembered in history. Will we look back in 20 years and think, "You know, the RIAA did a harsh, but necessary thing - they stopped illegal file sharing," or will we remember it as one of the worst witchhunts in the history of the Internet?

I'm thinking it'll be the latter.

Illegal file sharing has been around almost as long as software has been deemed officially copywrighted. It will never end either, just continue to flock from one place to another. The newbies seem to be a common target (napster, morpheus, audiogalaxy (man, that one rocked!), kazaa, etc) whereas the seasoned choices such as FTP, newsgroups, and IRC seem to recieve a lot less attention despite the fact that it's where a lot of the stuff originates.

LOL.. great essay. Some of us were already burned out on mp3 sharing long before Napster. I was one of them. 95% of my mp3s are 3 years old or older. Nobody seems to acknowledge that mp3s were around for more than 8 years now. Multiple attempts were made to the RIAA to acknowledge the existence of mp3s and to embrace them.. However, the RIAA just ignored them. Well, as far as I'm concerned, the RIAA can go to hell. The companies can go bankrupt and the greedy bastards behind it can shove it. After the greed is cleansed from the industry, the music will become art once more.

It is not stealing to download an mp3; it's contributing to the arts by spreading it. I won't pay to enjoy art.

You're all wrong they went after him cause of his ultra fast upload. :D

Not to mention that he is sharing a couple of terabytes of files.

That's odd I don't see RIAA_are_a_bunch_of_Greedy_Aholes@kazaa.com
