Rhino Label Maker / Other cable labelers

I have a Brother labeler that is pretty good, but as a network engineer it's not great except for temporary or one-off labels on cables.

I always thought they were $100 or more.

Someone recommended the Rhino 4200 that's about $40 at amazon. The only problem is while Brother labels you can find everywhere, Rhino label you need to have ordered on hand (or access to a Graybar type place).

Any thoughts?

Most Brother labelers can print in "flag" format, which works perfectly for wrapping around a cable.

I don't think the brother labels are as secure as others.

If you have recommendations, I have a PT-2700. I can print to 1"

I have the Rhino 600; it's damn near perfect. It has built-in templates for cable markers, panel labels, can do numerical ranges (successive labels with incremented numbers in up to two fields), labels up to 1" in horizontal or vertical, multi-line ...
It can also connect to a PC to store/recall labels, templates, or setups.

Pro-tip: Rhino and Dymo are the same. Unless you need a special label type that's Rhino branded any Dymo tape will work just fine. Its handy at work since we have a Rhino handheld for specialty stuff and a USB Dymo for everything else.

Work got me a rhino 500(or400, whatever the 2nd from top is) and its been great! Labels everything I need to and gave me ideas on labeling things I hadn't thought about before. Plus the vinyl labels don't seem like they are going anywhere anytime soon. You can also print heatshrink tubes, and I think even stronger labels with it. Worth it, and while I haven't checked I bet you can get the labels at OfficeMax or depot. The case itself has enough room to store quite a bit of labels also ( that might have been part of an extra kit).
