Rheobus questions

I have looked at some Rheobuses, and the ones I've liked happened to have the 3-pin fan connectors in the back. However, all of my fans are the 4-pin Molex type. Are there any adapters that change a 4-Pin Molex connection to a 3-pin connection. I found lots of connectors at FrozenCPU.com that change 3-pin to 4-pin, but none that do the reverse. How could it be that hard? If there aren't any like that, then could someone please tell me how to do it manually, if that's possible.

Also, though I have looked at some, does anyone have any personal favorites? Having looked at website ideas, I can't really tell what features are important to look for. All suggestions are welcomed.

just use the bare wires. this way who cares what connector the fan already has cut it off and use the bare wires. I love my PCmods rheobus from plycon. I have seen a nice brand new vanteq at SVC for only $30 though hell of a good deal. Make sure you get a rheobus that handles 15-18 watts per channel cause some cheap-o's are 5watt ones that do not cut the mustard.

my $.02 😀

the DIY way is just to cut the wire before the connector, then trim back the coating to expose the wire itself. do this to both wires and simply connect them (place them side-by-side, nit just ends touching) and wrap tighly & securely with electrical tape. Not sellotape, electrical tape 😉

the probably better DIY/electician's way is to go to a hardware store and buy a couple of whats called (over here anyway) "chocolate-boxes" - because they look a bit like a lump of chocolate (albeit see-through white and plasticy, er anyway). with these you simply trim back the coating a little (1cm or so) on the ends, put the naked wire ends in the holes and screw down the connectors 🙂

edit: btw some 3-pin to 4pin connectors actually have the 4-pin to 3-pin connectors on them also, its a case of having to see them though
