Review:

Seen them uh 5 times now, have live @slane, live @hyde, +a grip of other live videos/recordings, so I knew what to expect

Had absolutely no intention of seeing them in the pit (again hehe) so we went hella late and just chilled in the back. The intro jam sucked imho. Nothing compared to slane/hyde...but the jam coming out of BTW was

TAYT was disappointing cuz he didn't go into his huge solo at the end. New songs were cool, 2nd one ALOT funkier than the 1st one. Parallel universe OMFG. They have this (new?) ramp thing that goes around the stage and above Chad Smith's head, so Frusciante did his solo on the top of the ramp; he looked so miniscule compared to the size of that screen! But christ, talk about being on top of the world...

Intro before Californication was bloody AMAZING; I thought (but can't confirm w/o a recording) that his intro/solo for Californication was better than hyde/slane. Red hot mama sounds alot better with snoop

My favorite parts of the night by FAR were Flea's trumpet solo with Frusciante on bass (1000000000000x better than slane/hyde), and their outro jam to Give it Away OMFG 1000000000000x better than hyde.

Overall notes about the concert:
Their (new?) backdrop/video is far superior to their old one (slane-era). Minor technical problems throughout the show. Frusciante playing bass!? fvcking SICK. His live solo's are getting repetitive in style, but i don't give a sht, i could listen to them all day long.

People are complaining about the setlist: I'm pretty sure they're making their setlist so that everybody can enjoy, not so their hardcore fans can enjoy. I'm sure you all can admit that 80% of the people at that concert probably have never heard anything pre-californication besides BTW and GIA. Anyways, imho that concert was def. dvd worthy. Can't wait to see them again haha.

Weezer sucked live as usual. I like most of their album work, and have seen them before live, and I still cannot comprehend how much they suck. Standing in the same position playing songs exactly like your cd =/= good show.

I was in the pit at a RHCP concert a few years back. I was literally one person back from the stage and they were thankfully very short people. First and last concert I've ever been to, but I'd see RHCP again given the chance.
