I've just heard the fourth song off their new album and it's the fourth song I've heard off their new album that absolutly smokes/rox/spanks ass.
When John Frusciante left I was scared for the band. As it turned out my fears were confirmed when One Hot Minute was released after years of silence only to 100% suq. John released a solo album and I bought it thinking he might have been the redeeming quality of the band in the first place. Nope. His album sounded like he recorded the whole thing while passing in and out of consciousness.
The band reuinites years later and releases Californication which sounds very much just like the RHCP from BloodSugarSexMagic. By The Way is released and is even better than Californication and is pretty much the only thing on the radio worth listening to.
Conslusion: RHCP are the dynamite and John Frusciante is the match.
