I use Linux guests a lot in daily tasks (Virtualbox, W10 host) and lately wanted to move from current Arch/Debian mix to RH-based config (Fedora or openSUSE - for developing and CentOS - for servers).
Sadly... both Fedora and openSUSE seem VERY slow and unresponsive compared to Ubuntu and Mint with similar software running.
I checked Xfce and Mate (which I normally use), but also Gnome and KDE (which are heavier, but default for the distros).
Each VM has 4+ GB RAM and 3 threads, but performance is bad even in idle.
Any idea? Is there some crucial Virtualbox setting that I'm missing?
VT-x, Nested Paging and 3D acceleration are already on. I installed VB guest additions.
I used RH and Fedora a lot back in the day, but never as guests. These last few days were really disappointing...
