** RGB Fan Header Motherboard Voltage Question **

Hi,

I have a question/concern about voltage when it pertains to the RGB fan header. I bought a 240mm [2 fans] liquid cooler that has RGB fans. Well the RGB fans are rated for 5 volts. Not 12 as the motherboard I bought has. NOW, I called Asus, and they assured me that I wouldn't fry my RGB fans instantly by plugging the 5v RGB header into the 12v motherboard connection since 12v is the MOST it can handle. Anything below that is fine. This is what a motherboard rep from Asus told me.

NOW, I am asking you, the community because I want some extra assurance and I don't want to fry the RGB instantly, and if I CAN'T plug that connection, what else can I do so I have RGB on my fans on my AIO?

If anyone could verify, or give me information, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!
