RF Wireless Networking questions (clueless)

My friend just asked me about RF wireless networking, especially about who makes the best cards, etc. I haven't got a clue. I thought RF wireless was still in shakedown mode, but he says he's been told it is fabulous and he wants it. What do I tell him? And where do I find out about it? Thanks!

Tell him Wireless 802.11b LAN is more reliable, faster, a common standard, and has wide support compared to RF. And it's now almost as cheap as HomeRF.

As far as I'm concerned, non-standards based HomeRF is dead.

Well, all I can say is I've tried the Apple Airport with the Mac, which is the Lucent stuff. Works fine. The Lucent stuff costs too much though on a PC. People say the Linksys and Netgear stuff is fine, at a much better price.
