was given a Harmony remote and thought I'd use it for my XBMC setup, a tad overkill for a PC but it was free so :) I thought I could go on google and type "USB RF adapter" or something similar, tried about 20 things and the closest i got was a remote that came with an RF adapter. I just want the RF dongle or whatever it would be called. I'm unsure why I can't find this but I'm turning up blanks.

I think you need an IR adapter like the standard MCE adapter. But you need to do a tweak to use a universal remote with it. I think it's setting "enabledebounce" to "0" somewhere in the registry. Anyway, google "harmony" and "MCE" and that should get you all the info you need.

but if I get an IR receoiver then the remote will need line of sight to be used no? I wanted to use RF because it doesn't have that restriction.

thanks for the link The Boston Dangler, reading from Harmony's web site (something I should have done from the start lol) the remote is IR and not RF like I thought. The link you posted looks nice, should fit the bill just fine. thanks.
