This may not be the best place for this question, but does anyone know where i might find an add in card or external box to broadcast output from a computer over rg6 coax cable that is formated on either 720p or 1080p video feed? Like the older ati all in wonder cards could do for standard def tv.

I know everyones first thought is to just use the vga cable or some other cable, but they are far too short and aren't usually split as easily.

To give you and idea, where i work we set up some older crt tvs as a kind of general information/communication to the plant floor employees. To do that we just run a power point show with what ever info on a tv with an old aiw 7000 series card broadcasting over coax. (all closed loop if any one is concerned about interfering with public cable, which we don't have) Most of the older crts have finally been replaced with some cheaper 720p lcd tvs. It still works, but as those who have used this method know, reading text was never good unless it was big.

I've looked at vga over cat5 extenders but i have some runs that are beyond what they are specked at, plus that involves me running new cable. If i could find a converter/rf modulator box that converts to HD quality, that would probably be the cheapest route to go, while increasing the quality of the display and txt. I think.

Thanks for any input.

Thanks, it didn't cross my mind to use QAM in my search. At least with that i'm getting hits on something that might work. See what i can find now that i have a useful search term.

Thank you.
