Does anyone know if there is a chart that shows the ATT factor at a given Fz OR a formula to calculate this given the specific plate thickness and temper strength?

Other material was 26 cm of kiln dried 50 year old white oak plankboard and two 5/8 sheetrock firewall.

PPS lock on requirements are -158 dBm and behind the plate the board will not lock on to the precision positioning system. :( -M

Um, you realize this is AnandTech Off Topic, right?

Your strange acronyms confuse and frighten me.

Anyway, free bump for a longshot.

I personally think GPS questions should be in the Highly Technical Forum,
but what do I know! :)

At least a 6dB hit through glass, and forget about it through wood and wallboard.

That's what's puzzling as it DID get lock (and no crappy 2D mode!) through wood and sheetrock. The glass is 20 mm thk and no dice. Now if the unit is locked and we put the glass over the antenna we'll still get a WEAK signal occasionally hitting 2D. Lose all sats and forget about locking again through that pane. The receiver does require an initial higher signal for acquisition but it is so close. -M
