Reward Points

So I realized that my CC company gives reward points for gift card or checks.

for every 2500 points you get $25 worth of checks or gift cards. i had over 12, 800 points.

They really didn't have any GCs to stores I would want to shop at so I decided to go the check route.

During checkout, they have an option to expedite the shipping for $10. "uh oh", i say to myself, "must take a while to get them."

finish checkout and ship date is 1/29/07 and estimated arrival date is 2/12/07.

Nice - they expect their money as soon as possible and the 1st time you have a late payment, not matter that you've never had a late payment since you had the card (for several years) they charge you like $40. But when it comes to giving you money, hey, lets take all the time in the world.

change credit cards to a straight 1% card?

or if you're lucky a 1.25% Capital one card or a 1.5% Fidelity card.

I've never used the express shipping option and it has never taken over 5 days to receive my rewards (Citibank).

If its your first time screwing up, you are likely to get it removed, especially if you call and ask.

I get American Airline miles with my Citibank CC/Debit card. For every dollar I spend I get 1 point back.
I just claimed a $100 Gift Card to CircuitCity. It should be delivered today or tomorrow.
