"revolutionary ideas"

Is it just me or does it seem as though people who talk of "revolutionary ideas" are looked upon as crazy/stupid/have no clue as to what they're talking about but then 50 years later or so people realize they're correct and then they're "praised" or awarded for their "work". I just seems as though you can't say anything "revolutionary" with out looking like a tard and then be ignored through out your life and THEN your praised only AFTER your dead...

Yea in essence most revolutionaries give up their egos and their lives for the good of people who will most likely not realize their value for a long period of time.

depends on what subject? member how SEGA CD was supposed to be so awesome? and it totally wasn't 😛

But the CD-ROM add-on for the SNES was supposed to be really awesome... and now we're going to see the PS3 in a couple years.

Because 99% of the people with "revolutionary ideas" are quacks, liers, or just don't have the means to carry out the ideas.

Maybe if everything from oval toliet seats to tuna in a bag wasn't hailed as "revolutionary" by its respective marketing department "revolutionary idea" would still hold some clout with the average person. "Revolutionary" has become synonymous with "meh".

Is it just me or did you just prove his point?

No, because ~1% are correct with their thinking. They have to fight through the 99% to be seen. That is a difficult uphill battle.

If 99% of lions you meet eat your family, will you approach that 1% of lions who are great companions?

You're right. In 50 years people will look back on what Timothy McVeigh though and did and his views will be applauded.

The problem with most revolutionary ideas is that many of them are short sighted. Sure it sounds great to say that everyone plays a part in society therefore everyone should make the same wage. But you have to look at how people will act in response to that type of system.

Unless someone is advocating more personal rights for everyone, then generally the revolutionaries are just trying to gain power.

"revolutionary ideas" don't have to be a politcal thing. I mean look at einstien, his theory on relativity was looked upon as "being out there" and while he was awarded the nobel prize in his life time, people didn't actually "grasp" it until after he was dead...
