REVO vs. RAY-BAN...................

I notice they both have models that appeal.......(to me).......and I realized they were both Italian, yet Revo seemingly tries to sell itself as "set apart" from the crowd with their "innovation", yet they're both Luxottica.

I thought Ray Ban was American and made by Bausch and Lomb.

You are (errrr........were) actually correct. I didn't think about it at first since all the Rayban's I've been looking at lately say "made in Italy" on the inside, but now that you said that, I looked it up & looks like Luxottica bought 'em back in '99.......

I guess my biggest query is as to why Revo fetches more money for similar shades vs. Ray Ban.

personally, i like the look of revo's more. don't know if they are the same company though.

Don't know if this is still the case, but the original Revo's gimmick was that they used the same shielding as NASA space suit visors (obviously with a lighter tint)...
supposedly they were infused with gold & hence the high price.

Wonder if it's still done, (w/ gold & such, that is) or if Revos just fetch a higher price nowadays.
