Well, if it's supposedly better than an 8800/9600, then I assume I made a good choice in getting one to replace my 7900GT?

anyone know if there are good aftermarket coolers that work with this or will it need a new style? I want to pair one of these with my e6550 for my HTPC and my only concern is noise. Though it would be wierd if my HTPC had a better vid card than my main gamer... poor 8800GTS 512, so new yet so far behind.

Which one is better, ASUS or Sapphire?
sappire rebates take a LONG time to get even if you do everything right. I'd go with asus just because of that.
Is asus going to still honor the rebate even though it's not listed on newegg's site any more? what if they only honor the rebate from newegg for launch day since that was the only day it was listed on their site?

Your 9600GT is fine for current games. Wait until you're dissatisfied.Originally posted by: Sentrosi2121
This card is better than my 9600GT, right? I should jump on this card, right? Convince me not to...for the sake of my marriage!

So I just installed the ASUS 4850 and the stutter in Gears of War with my 8800GT is gone!
However, I chose to install the latest "base" Catalyst drivers from ATI, without the Control Center stuff, and WIndows XP keeps detecting an unknown PCI Device. Any ideas? I'm thinking it's the HDTV component?
Has anybody installed the ASUS software? Looks like a lot of crap. I prefer to keep my system lean and mean...

my 3870 does that, too. I think that it's related to the hdmi audio driver which for some incredibly annoying reason requires its own special driver. it's a pita to find it, I installed once but after my reinstall last month for the new hd I just disabled the "unknown device". I'll track down the driver in the unlikely event that I ever actually need that feature.
