As an academic scientist, I get called upon from time to time to review manuscripts submitted for publication in scientific journals. Part of the "peer review process" to insure quality publications. It is the hardest when the paper is in between good and bad and needs more work, usually in the form of experiments.

Publish or perish reality forces more traffic through a strained system already but is necessary to keep quality as high as possible.

Enough procrastination and back to reviewing!!

I know what you mean. Sometimes my boss spends days in her office doing peer reviews instead of being in the lab doing actual research. :confused:

Yes, most posts are brain drainers (mine too I suppose!) but that's what helps keep me sane! Everyone here just cracks me up. :)
