-100Hz (supposedly? not guaranteed?)
-IPS
-3440x1440
-Curved
-Measured input lag (response + signal processing) a little over 9ms
-Very little if any backlight bleed/IPS glow

Sounds good to me, wonder how the upcoming ASUS PG348Q will compare considering both displays utilize the same panel.

Thoughts?

Would Gsync work over Dual DVI? I hope the Asus offers it because my graphics card prioritises HDMI over Displayport so when I boot up with my monitor on displayport and my audio receiver on HDMI, I get a blank screen until windows shows up. I've had to revert to DVI so I don't have to unplug my receiver every time I want to go into the bios.

The other thing I'm worried about is the stand designs. It may look stylish but I have to balance my monitor on top of my centre speaker which is slightly smaller than the area needed to place the legs.

Glad to see Acer fixed the banding issue pretty quickly and seem to be saying that all stock going forward will have the correct firmware. That does make this extremely appealing... aside from the price...

No idea why you wrote that. Because TFTCentral warns explicitly for IPS-glow several times in their review.

On a black image there is a characteristic white glow when viewed from an angle, commonly referred to as "IPS-glow". This is common on most modern IPS-type panels and can be distracting to some users. If you view dark content from a normal head-on viewing position, you can actually see this glow as your eyes look towards the edges of the screen. Because of the sheer horizontal size of this 34" panel, the glow towards the edges is more obvious than on small screens, where there isn't such a long distance from your central position to the edges. Some people may find this problematic if they are working with a lot of dark content or solid colour patterns. In normal day to day uses, office work, movies and games you couldn't really notice this unless you were viewing darker content.

In other words: if you play a lot of dark games, IPS-glow is irritating as [redacted]. And is certainly present on this monitor.

Edit: mmm, the 2 pictures from TFTCentral can not be linked. Check the TFTCentral review. And check the 2 pictures of a dark screen with yellow corners.

If you don't believe this is really a problem for some gamers, check these pictures via Google Images:
https://www.google.nl/search?ion=0&tbm=isch&q=glow%20ips%20acer%20monitor

I play a lot of dark games. Dungeon crawling in RPGs and MMORPGs like Skyrim, The Witcher etc. Horror games like Soma, Amnesia, Outlast, Dying Light, etc. The Old City Leviathan, lots of games have parts in dungeons, at night, etc. I've had a Acer XB270HU. That one had terrible yellow glow. So distracting that I've sent it back. All XB270HU have that problem. Except the ones that were sent to customers who don't mind having yellow as the new black.

From what I read in this new review, the X34 ultrawide monitors are just as bad in this regard. Maybe a very nice monitor. But not if you play dark games.

Edit2: just because I wanted to show a picture in my post. This is a picture of the upcoming Asus IPS 27" gaming monitor. Uses the same panel (AUO) as the Acer XB270HU. This is a picture used to *promote* the monitor. But even here, in the *promotion* it is obvious that monitor/panel sucks at dark images.

How would you even notice after you crank up the gamma setting so you can see everything in the dark?
