Review Request - HP Envy 15

Anandtech,

Any chance you guys could review rhe new HP Envy 15? I've read reviews of it on a few other sites, but they all lack the in-depth nature of your own reviews. Especially when it comes to color calibration. I would be using the laptop for design work that is very color specific at times, and others have complained about the color red displaying as orange. However, none of these other reviews have actually used a color calibration unit to try and correct the problem. I know Anandtech always calibrates monitors during reviews, and I'm wondering if this will fix the color issues, or if the screens are just that bad.

Also, it seems like only Anandtech can ever get answers from the manufacturer. Other review sites simply accept that there is an issue, whereas anandtech goes back to the manufacturer and presses them for an explanation about any product inadequacies, which I truly appreciate. I think Anandtech does the best reviews by far! In fact, it's to the point now that I won't buy anything you haven't reviewed. That's how much better you guys are. I think most of your readers would agree.

So thanks for always being so thorough, and if you can, please review the HP Envy 15.

If you look at the long thread on notebookreview, people were messing around with calibration settings for the IPS LCD since they started receiving their laptops. The consensus was calibration helps, but it won't take away the orange tint to reds. Darker or deeper reds still look fine though from my experience, and it's the lighter reds that get that bit of orange to them.

Seferio, thanks for the info. I'd still like to see Anandtech review it and get some answers from HP. It's really a shame that none of the windows based laptops can seem to come close to what apple delivers, in terms of consistent quality. HP seems to be heading in the right direction, yet still falling short. Truly dissapointing.
