<< no need for review sites, just get a nokia. >>

Yeah, just get a nokia and cancer while you're at it. I was informed that nokia has the one of the highest radiation levels of all cellphone manufacturers. My mother, who teaches ESL, has a student from Norway who is an engineer for Nokia and he explained that to her. I can't confirm 100% that it is true, but I don't think it would hurt to save your own life down the road.

Read this

Before you start spreading your third-hand anecdotal information as science do a little research.

To the topic at hand, the sanyo phone seems to be a CDMA phone, whereas the 8860 is a TDMA phone....

Nokia phones have absolutely the easiest to use and most intuitive interface. Personally, I like phones that are just phones, not phones, web broswers, organizers, etc. Since you seem to not be attached to one technology (CDMA, TDMA) or carrier, I would suggest looking into GSM.. Nokia tends to put more features into its GSM phones (The 8290 has detachable faceplates, infrared, the 8260 does not) not to mention that the 8290 is smaller than the 8260 and GSM sound quality is far better than TDMA or CDMA.

If you want a phone with all the extra bells and whistles I know Nokia is going to be releasing one (at least in Europe) soon.

since none of these guys are being helpful, I will. Two good sites that I visit are howardchui.com and wirelessadvisor.com. Howardchui is heavily populated with cell phone geeks, who've done all sorts of mods. I've found that wireless advisor has many people actually in the industry, which gives you a much different (and educated) view. Howardchui seems to be full of mainly Canadians though...
