Reverted to win 8.1 and now slow after sleep

I had win10 free upgrade, and I needed to reinstall. After doing so, this time, Win 10 never came back as a download option. I assume it's because I changed my game drive SSD out, despite the fact that I reinstalled it to the same SSD, and have the same motherboard, etc.

Well, that's OK, I can live with 8.1, except now, every time my computer's been in sleep for a while, I have to reboot. If I do not, then if I start a game up I get massive FPS drops.

Any ideas?

Is there a reason why you used a Win8.1 recovery media / factory re-install disc, after installing Win10? Why not make a Win10 install USB, and install the same edition of Win10 as you had on there before. If it was activated before, then it should automatically re-activate, once online again.

Yes. Windows 10 said goodbye to the key (almost). In your case, like VL said, just download 10 and do a fresh install.
